updating centos4 is a breeze using yum.. bakit po ang bayanihan lserver 2006(naguguluhan ako) parang walang yum/apt?

meron po ba tong sariling update manager?di ko kaya to nainstall?i dont remember seeing it on the installation and i have personally check install everything..
feasible po ba na iupdate ang blserver2006 gamit ang repo ng centos?

salamat po..

The version of Apache and most other services installed in the Bayanihan Server are, as far as I know, too tightly integrated that updating these to any other version may render the Wizard Configuration Tool unusable.

You may want to try the packages from CentOS like you mentioned by recompiling these for Bayanihan Server.

Thanks Rage,

That would be too costly(with respect to time though). I have seen bayanihan as a complete solution for my needs in my current location.. Mail server, file server, the works.

Anyway Sir, do you know where i could read about deploying postfix in BLSERVER2K6 as a lan mail server only.

Thanks again in advance.

Mabuhay ang Bayanihan.

Hi Rage, Is it possible to just install the rpm package and then install the package from centos. I believe centos is from RH-ENT. Cheers, John

Also never try to update the system itself since as Sir Rage said.. the system is tightly integrated.. A bad update may/will just render your system unstable.. di ba? Wala pa akong alam na parang Norton GoBack for Linux(a pun).. or Apple Time Machine for Mac OSX. Smile

Regards po sa BLSERVER 2006 TEAM.
