You need a compiler to build a compiler. GCC is available in the online repositories of BL4 just go to http://apt.bayanihan.gov.ph for instructions on how to install GCC.

we find bl4 linux nice the only comment is that we cannot explore more because some part of the distro is lock, i guess for security reason, also the update of some repository is hard to find....the online support http://apt.bayanihan.gov.ph/bantayog seems out of order...i hope we can find a way to work bl4 on our system......

hi, sorry for the late post.

when you say "lock" what do you mean exactly? everything in BL4 is customizable.

if you need to install additional packages, you can try this:

http://apt.bayanihan.gov.ph/tags/apt/

sir

just want to have your idea about SATA drive, we install BL4 in some different motherboard with different chipset, currently we are using Asus board and in P5SD2 with SIS chipset, when we are installing BL4 no HDD have been found. one of my friend told me to set IDE in CMOS but its already the deafult of the board. can we say that there is board compatibility? or chipset? i am using another dstro for our server RHEL4 so far got no problem in SATA drive.

thank you,

sir rage

its about the "lock" files i am talking about, can we enable it or unlock it? also about the file sharing in the control center is it possible to access that option to re-configure it.

thank you

hi again sorry for posting soooo late.

i suggest trying BL5 (http:/apt.bayanihan.gov.ph) mas updated kasi yung mga packages and drivers so it might be better at detecting your particular HDD.

yung "lock" files, i still don't understand what you mean? is there any file in particular that you need to access. yung control center kailangan mo ng "Administrative priviledges" to change some settings, usually may button sa baba ng window that when you press you will be prompted for the "root" or administrator password.

yung gcc version sa BL4 fixed na, so if you want a newer version of the compiler then you need to download the sources that compile it with the existing gcc in the repository. i suggest installing BL5 then install gcc from the repositories using Synaptic.
